The analysis of the cervical spine can use various methodologies. There are specific concepts that can be used to develop a way to adjust the cervical spine accurately and efficiently. These are understanding the relationship between the atlas and axis, Lovett relationship with lumbar and cervical vertebra, using technique using vertebral challenges and leg checks. In the Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) the structure and function of the cranium is of extreme importance. SOT practitioners really see the cranium as a collection of very upper cervical segments, and a dysfunction in the position or motion of any of these is seen as capable of causing, or of being associated with , dysfunction of the central nervous system, primarily through influence on the dura and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. A group of organized “stress tests” for evaluating and treating the cervical spine is presented.
