Sacro Occipital Technique: An Introduction

Hochman JI Today’s Chiro Mar/Apr 1996;25 (2): 46-50

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) developed by Dr. Major Bertrand DeJarnette is based on a functional understanding of human anatomy. In his many years of practice, DeJarnette ultimately classified almost all patients into three common types of compensators, or primary categories — Category 1, Category 2 or Category 3. SOT fully accepts the traditional chiropractic philosophy that subluxation is caused by stress — chemical, physical and mental. SOT practice then determines what the nature of the physical manifestation in the body is because of that stress, and what to do about it, specifically.
