This article is an introduction to the cranial sacral mechanism. Discussed is the relationship between the primary cranial sacral respiratory mechanism and breath. Diagnosing cranial faults is presented with emphasis on observation, palpation and assessing motion of the cranium. Specific regions of the skull are suggested for palpation at the sutures and cranial landmarks. Cranial motion is palpated with motion also palpated at the sacrum, ilium, spine, and ribs with emphasis at the sphenobasilar junction.
