S.O.T. Cranial Adjustments Basis, Effects and Case Study

Rasmussen SA Today’s Chiro Mar/Apr 1998; 27 (2):40-44

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) cranial adjusting consists of very gentle adjustment of the osseous and soft tissue elements of the cranium and adjacent cervical tissues. These adjustments are designed to allow for proper sutural mobility, to restore optimal venous and arterial flow and optimal cerebrospinal fluid flow and to reduce muscular and dural restrictions. The case study was a report of a successful series of cranial and spinal adjustments for the treatment of a patient presenting with tinnitus. This case demonstrates how cranial adjusting can be combined with spinal adjustments to increase the level of effectiveness in the care of a variety of conditions seen in a chiropractic office.
