Evaluating Cranial Dysfunction

Hochman JI Today’s Chiro Jul/Aug 1988; 4 (17): 27-30

Cranial correction, through quick, methodical analytical procedure, is very often needed in clinical practice since most patients have sustained some direct (blow to the head) or indirect (whiplash) cranial trauma. Sustained dental sessions, malocclusion, and storing tension in the cervicals, facial or cranial muscles all contribute to generalized dysfunction of a variety of normal cranial motions. Presented in this article are four “easiest and quickest” methods to verify cranial dysfunction. They are: the (1) breathing test, (2) supine leg check with therapy localization, (3) muscle testing with therapy localization, and (4) challenging with supine leg check or muscle testing.
