Cervicogenic, Tension-Type Headache With Migraine: A Case Study

Edeling J   Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy  1997 ;5(1): 33-8

A 37 year old man presented with intractable chronic headache of long standing. The headache had increased in severity over a period of years in spite of modern drug therapy. He then sought non medical treatment. Examination by an orthopaedic physical therapist suggested a combined pathology of cervicogenic headache, tension headache and vascular migraine. The evaluation, treatment and outcome of physical treatment is shown. A review of pertinent literature is provided including that of a new anatomical finding which could be an additional or alternate source of cervicogenic or tension-type headache.
