The TMJ and Dysfunction of the Lumbo-Pelvic Complex

Many cranial-sacral and cranial-mandibular practitioners have difficulty in understanding the TMJ syndrome in its entirety. Most frequently, corrective measures taken in this problem only involve the temporal mandibular portion. Increased analytical understanding and diagnostic factors have to be employed in a progressive practice. In Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), many aspects of the symptom patterns or syndromes are used as “indicators” for lumbo-pelvic complex lesions and for monitoring improvements of corrective procedures. The clinical syndromes of the TMJ and other craniofacial problems that are seen in our offices every day, are frequently brought about as a result of lumbo-pelvic complex dysfunctions.
